Former Fairfield County Corrections Officer Charged with Eight Felonies

Fairfield County – A former corrections officer who resigned after being caught in an inmate wrestling scandal in 2022 is now in hot water after an indictment.

Kyle Scott Archibald, of Kingston, is facing one felony count of illegal conveyance a felony in the 3rd degree, and seven felony counts of unauthorized use of property 5th degree felonies.

According to the indictment, this occurred from January to June of 2022, and the illegal conveyance occurred between March 2022 and September.

Archibald was part of three correction officers found holding wrestling matches between inmates and correction officers. It was completely voluntary between the inmates and the officers, but definitely not acceptable behavior. Caught on video Archibald and the two other correction officers resigned. Archibald was given a 5,000-dollar recognizance bond. He could face a maximum of 10 years in prison and thousands of dollars in fines.
