Pickaway County – A former Westfall teacher appeared in Court today and with a lawyer plead not guilty to charges of disseminating matter harmful to juveniles after admitting to sending photos of herself to her, “favorite,” student.
Tiffany Haughy, 42, almost old enough to be the student’s Grandmother was released on her own recognizance and ordered by the judge to not have contact with the victim or any other child without adult supervision unless they are her own children.
The case, reported on August 2, 2024, has raised serious concerns and prompted a detailed inquiry by local law enforcement.
According to reports, the principal of Westfall High School received a complaint from one of the students, who revealed that the teacher’s aid had sent inappropriate images via Snapchat. The student had shared this information with another student, who then reported it to school officials.
A deputy was dispatched to the school and interviewed the students involved. They provided witness statements detailing the exchange of explicit photos, which reportedly began during a wrestling tournament in Michigan. Screenshots of the images were shared in a group chat, which helped substantiate the allegations. According to the report, nude photos were sent in agreement between the teacher and the student if the student did well during his wrestling tournament.
Detectives further investigated the case on August 5 and August 8. They interviewed the student’s mother, who provided additional context. The student detailed sexually explicit conversations and exchanges with the teacher, including images and videos of both parties that were sexual in nature.
The teacher is identified as Tiffany Haughy, 42 was interviewed at her home on August 8. During the interview, she acknowledged sending explicit images but broke down crying when the investigator asked about the video also. Tiffany stated she was begged to send images and that she was in a vulnerable state.
Tiffany stated there was one student in particular the victim she developed a friendship with. She stated it began as a mothering thing because he had a rough home life. Tiffany stated she would help him make sure he had money to get something to drink and help find him rides to practice. Tiffany stated they did snap daily.
She then offered to resign if the charges could not be placed on her. Tiffany admitted after she sent sexual photos the student sent pics of his genitals back and she did not report any of this behavior to the school.
Currently, Tiffany Haughey, 42 has been charged with Disseminating matter harmful to juveniles she has not been arrested or booked in.
