GALLIPOLIS, OH – A former cell phone repairman who secretly downloaded nude photos from customers’ devices has been sentenced to prison, Ohio Attorney General Dave Yost announced today.

Calvin Jordan, 27, of Gallipolis, will serve 49 to 51 years behind bars after pleading guilty to a 40-count indictment. He will also be required to register as a Tier II sex offender.

“This crime was the digital equivalent of a peeping Tom hiding in the bushes outside a bedroom window – it’s creepy, and it’s an invasion of privacy,” Yost said. “He will now face serious time for his cybercrimes.”

Jordan worked at Direct Computing Solutions (also known as DC Solutions) in Gallipolis when he committed the offenses. Investigators found that between December 2021 and April 2022, he accessed customers’ phones without their consent and downloaded private images, including those of minors aged 14 to 17.

His charges included:

  • Three counts of pandering sexually oriented material involving a minor (F2)
  • One count of illegal use of a minor in nudity-oriented material or performance (F5)
  • 36 counts of unauthorized use of computer, cable, or telecommunications property (F5)

More than 40 victims—both male and female—were impacted by Jordan’s crimes. The Gallipolis Police Department and the Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigation led the investigation, while attorneys from Yost’s Special Prosecution Section handled the case.
