Bratton Township, Adams County, OH — The Georgetown Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol is investigating a fatal airplane crash that occurred on December 30, 2024, at approximately 3:08 p.m.
Preliminary reports indicate that a 1960 twin-engine Cessna 310D, piloted by 46-year-old Robert Harris Coles of Vicksburg, Michigan, crashed into a wooded area near 2173 Savage Road. Emergency services from Adams County quickly responded to the scene and located the wreckage.
Tragically, Mr. Coles sustained fatal injuries from the crash and was pronounced dead by the Adams County Coroner. There were no other occupants aboard the aircraft at the time of the incident.
The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) have been notified, and representatives from both agencies will be responding to the site as part of the ongoing investigation.
