As the College Football Playoff National Championship approaches, Ohio Governor Mike DeWine and Indiana Governor Mike Braun have placed a friendly wager on the outcome of the highly anticipated game between The Ohio State Buckeyes and the University of Notre Dame Fighting Irish.

“I’m confident that The Ohio State Buckeyes will defeat Notre Dame and claim the national title,” said Governor DeWine. “This friendly wager with Governor Braun is a fun way to showcase some of Ohio’s finest homemade buckeyes as we cheer on our team.”

Governor DeWine has bet Ohio’s famous Marsha’s Homemade Buckeyes, a beloved treat from Perrysburg, Ohio. In return, Governor Braun has placed a wager of Indiana-made sweet treats, including chocolates from the South Bend Chocolate Company.

“I’m excited to join Governor DeWine in this friendly competition,” said Governor Braun. “The Notre Dame Fighting Irish have had an incredible season, and I have no doubt they will rise to the occasion and secure the national championship.”

The CFP National Championship between Ohio State and Notre Dame will take place on January 20, 2025, at Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta. Kickoff is scheduled for 7:30 p.m., and the game will be broadcast on ESPN.
