CTFD- Columbia Township Fire Department in Lorain County Ohio says goodbye to one of their own via Facebook with this statement- It is with great sadness and regret that we announce the loss of one of our own, 23 year old firefighter & paramedic Brett Wilson. In the early morning hours on October 27th, Firefighter Wilson responded to a call for a motor vehicle accident on Sprague Road where he proceeded to the vicitims in effort to render aid and was fatally electrocuted by downed power lines. Firefighter Wilson was hired in January of 2018 and quickly became a valued asset to Columbia Township Fire Department. He was a selfless and dedicated worker, a true brother firefighter, with great passion for the field of work in which he loved and was meant for…..but most of all, he was a hero that tragically gave his life in service of people in need. Please keep Columbia Township Fire Department, the family of Firefighter Brett Wilson, and Brett, himself, in your thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.
If you would like to make a donation, you can submit them to the Columbia Township Fireman’s Association. All donations will be forwarded to the family to be used toward what they wish.
It was an honor to work alongside you, Brett. You will never be forgotten…
