McArthur – Ohio State Highway is investigating a wreck that killed a 29 year old in McArthur last night.
According to Ohio State Highway Patrol a 2008 Pontiac G6 operated by Andrew McNichols, 29 of McArthur was traveling west on Wolf Hill road. A 1996 Ford F-350 operated by Marcus Stout, 27 of Londonderry was traveling west on Wolf Hill road. A 2000 Ford F-450, operated by Gregory Hughes, 55, of McArthur was traveling east on Wolf Hill Road.
McNichols attempted to pass Mr. Stout on the two-lane highway and when he pulled into oncoming traffic he hit Mr. Huges head-on. After the two vehicles came into contact the vehicle spun and hit the attempted passing vehicle causing it to wreck also.
Mr. McNichols was pronounced dead at the scene by Vinton County Coroner.
The two other drivers were checked out at the scene and released with only minor injuries. No other occupants were involved.
Wolf Hill road was shut down for investigation for several hours.
