PICKAWAY – Pickaway County Health Department is sponsoring a last chance at getting your children’s immunizations from August 16-17, 2019 from 12:00pm – 4:00pm.
August is a busy month with back-to-school shopping, last minute family vacations, registering for school, and leaving for college. As summer comes to an end and the school year begins, the Pickaway County Public Health would like to offer extended hours for a chance to get vaccinated before school begins.
On Friday, August 16th, and Saturday, August 17th, immunizations will be offered from 12:00pm – 4:00pm. These clinics will be held at the Pickaway County Health Department located at 110 Island Rd., Suite C, Circleville, OH 43113.
Immunizations don’t just protect us as individuals – they offer security to others in our community including protection to vulnerable populations such as young children, immunocompromised individuals, and the elderly through herd immunity. The more people that are vaccinated, the more we are all protected from preventable, and sometimes fatal, diseases.
The resurgence of measles is proof that this line of thinking is not shared by all. Each year, thousands of children become ill from diseases that could have been prevented by childhood vaccines. Countless more miss time from daycare and school because they are not vaccinated as recommended. However, we have the power to protect ourselves, our loved ones and the community around us through vaccination.
Vaccines are available to children who are uninsured, underinsured, or have no medical insurance. Our agency also accepts Medicaid, Care Source, Molina, or cash.
Parents must be with the children and you must bring your child’s immunization record. Call Pickaway County Health Department (740) 477-9667 with any questions.
