Heather Jo (McCain) Saunders, 54, of Circleville, Ohio passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, August 28, 2024, at Riverside Methodist Hospital.  She was born May 12, 1970, in Circleville, Ohio to late parents Ronald E. and Geraldine (Combs) McCain.  In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by son Tanner Jo Lehr.  Heather was a 1988 graduate of Circleville High School where she was a team captain, 4year letter winner and 2-time OHSAA state qualifier in tennis.  She also participated in S.O.S., serving as club president for a leadership group of students devoted to serving others.  A longtime employee of Pickaway Dialysis and Eldorado Gaming, Heather was dedicated to her work with patients and customers alike.  Her most rewarding job, however, was being “Mimi” to Jaxson.  Overcoming and enduring many obstacles, Heather was a constant defender and supporter for her sons.  She was often direct with her opinions, never shying away from a tense situation.  She was always passionate about her beliefs, wearing her heart on her sleeve.  She was stubborn to the very end, fighting fiercely to remain.  She enjoyed crafting, decorating, shopping, fishing, watching UFC fights, playing games with Jaxson and also cheering for him in sporting events-she was his loudest cheerleader.  Heather is survived by her beloved sons, Wesley (Brooke) McCain; Trevor (Jess) Saunders and Chase (Sabrina) Lehr all of Circleville; precious grandson, Jaxson Lehr and baby Lehr (expected in January); sister Jamie (Lonnie) Hawk of Kingston; brother Matthew McCain of Circleville; special pets Annie, B.B., Kalie and Birdie; numerous other family members and friends whom she cherished.  Heather touched the lives of countless people through organ and tissue donation through Lifeline of Ohio.  Special thanks to Ohio Berger Health ER staff and Riverside Methodist ICU unit for your efforts and compassion during this very difficult time.  “I love you as high as the heavens and as deep as the ocean.”  Graveside services will be held on Wednesday, September 4, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. at Forest Cemetery.  Visitation will be on Tuesday from 4-6 p.m. at the Wellman Funeral Home, Circleville.  Online condolences can be made to www.wellmanfuneralhomes.com.
