FAYETTE COUNTY, OH – In a dramatic and life-saving response on Thursday, June 20th, Fayette County EMS and the BPM Joint Fire Department were dispatched to a Bloomingburg residence following a report of a non-breathing infant.

The emergency call prompted both EMS and the fire department to rush to the scene due to the critical nature of the situation. Firefighter Jim Fabin, arriving first, immediately took charge. Upon entering the residence, he was handed the unresponsive child by an adult who had been attempting CPR.

Without hesitation, Fabin initiated infant CPR. His swift and skilled response successfully resuscitated the infant, who began breathing again. A medical helicopter was quickly summoned and transported the infant to a trauma center for further evaluation.

The Fayette County Sheriff’s Office commends all the first responders involved, with special recognition for the heroic efforts of Firefighter Jim Fabin. His decisive actions exemplify the life-saving impact that well-trained and dedicated first responders can have in critical situations.

“I want to commend the first responders and especially the heroic efforts of Jim Fabin,” Stanforth said.
