(COLUMBUS, Ohio) – Governor Mike DeWine honored Ohio’s 2025 District Teachers of the Year during his State of the State address on March 12, recognizing outstanding educators across the state—including Treva Bolton from Logan-Hocking School District.

“Put a good teacher in the classroom, and kids will learn,” DeWine stated. “Few things make more of a difference in a young student’s life than the impact of a truly outstanding teacher.”

Bolton joins a distinguished group of 11 educators chosen for their dedication and excellence in teaching. The Ohio Teacher of the Year program, established in 1964, highlights teachers who go above and beyond to inspire students.

Nominations for the 2026 Ohio Teacher of the Year are open until March 31, 2025. Visit the State Board of Education’s website to submit nominations.
