September 13, 2020
Deputies responded to a Hide-A-Way Hills residence for a neighbor dispute. The complainant called 911 during the dispute after a neighbor fired a gunshot into the air. Deputies investigated and found that there was a gunshot and recovered a 12 gauge shell casing. Due to a lack of bed space at SEORJ, deputies forwarded charges for Using Weapons While Intoxicated to the Prosecutor’s Office. The suspect was told charges would be forthcoming.

Deputies responded to a Haydenville Rd. residence for a well-being check requested by Nelsonville Police. While at the residence, a complaint was made for aggravated menacing that had occurred during an ongoing dispute. The case was referred to the Prosecutor’s Office.

Deputies responded to Freeman Rd. residence for a theft and criminal damaging complaint. The complainant told deputies that the catalytic converter and battery were stolen along with damage to the vehicle while it was at that location being repaired. The case remains under investigation.

Deputies responded to a Hocking Dr. business for a theft and criminal damaging complaint. The complainant told deputies that three vehicles had been entered overnight with equipment stolen and a catalytic converter cut off. The case remains under investigation.

Deputies responded to a disturbance call at an Old Logan Rd. address. The suspect, who had allegedly started the disturbance was gone upon the deputies arrival. It was requested that the person be trespassed from the address.

Deputies responded to a SR 180 residence for a suicide. HCEMS had arrived prior to the deputies and found the person deceased. HC Coroner employees released the deceased to the funeral home.

Deputies responded to a Cherry Crest Dr. residence for a theft complaint. The complainant told deputies that they had loaned a friend their vehicle and they didn’t return it, but found it behind a W. Front St. business. When they recovered the vehicle a power washer and hoses were missing from the vehicle.

Deputies responded to a Hawk St. residence for a possible fraud. The complainant told deputies that a repair person may have defrauded her elderly mother during a repair. The information was forwarded to the Attorney General’s consumer fraud divison.

Deputies responded to a SR 56 residence for a domestic argument. No violence occurred and no charges were filed.

Deputies went to a Sam’s Creek Rd. residence for a protection order violation. After investigation, deputies arrested Tommy L. Conn, 32, Laurelville and transported him to the SEORJ.

Deputies responded to a domestic dispute at a Clapper Hollow Rd. residence. No violence occurred and no charges were filed.

Deputies responded to a SR 56 residence for a stolen vehicle complaint. The vehicle was eventually located and the case remains under investigation.

Deputies responded to Hayden Place Apartments for a neighbor dispute. After reviewing video footage, deputies determined no violence occurred and all the parties were warned for disorderly conduct.

September 18, 2020
Deputies responded to a SR 93 residence for a peeping tom complaint. The complainants told deputies that as a juvenile was in the bathroom they saw a male looking in the window. The mother’s boyfriend found a male outside the house and chased them. The suspect entered a black vehicle and sped off. A door to the complainant’s vehicle was also found open. Nothing from the vehicle was found missing.

Deputies received a firearm that was found on the road on Lake Logan Rd. The owner contacted the Sheriff’s Office and the firearm was returned.

Deputies responded to a Hocking Senior Village apartment for a well-being check. Deputies found the resident in distress and summoned HCEMS, who transported to HVCH.

Deputies responded to an initial complaint of a hit and run crash that occurred in the area of Chestnut Grove Rd. After arriving, deputies learned that there was a crash, but was a domestic incident. After investigating the matter, deputies forwarded the case file to the Prosecutor’s Office for review.

Deputies responded to a Maysville Greendale Rd. residence for a criminal damaging complaint. After investigation, deputies determined that the matter was civil in nature and not criminal.

A Stout Rd. resident came to the Sheriff’s Office to report a theft. The complainant told deputies that a trail camera was stolen from the property.

September 20, 2020
Deputies responded to a SR 93 cabin for a disturbance. After arriving deputies learned that an intoxicated man, Michael Derugen, Austintown, OH had become intoxicated, threw furniture and was yelling. Derugen kept asking deputies to take him to jail. Derugen was asked to just go to bed, but refused. Derugen was arrested for disorderly conduct by intoxication and transported to the SEORJ.

Deputies responded to a Union Rd. residence for a criminal trespass complaint. The complainant told deputies that when they arrived home, they found tire tracks in the grass going around a fence on their property.

Deputies responded to an overdose at a Maysville-Greendale Rd. residence. When deputies arrived HCEMS was on scene providing treatment. The victim told deputies that they had snorted crushed pills. HCEMS transported to HVCH.

Deputies responded to an unruly juvenile complaint at a Creamery Hill Rd. residence. The juvenile had left home and not returned and refused after a parent had called. After a call from deputies the juvenile returned home.

Deputies responded to Clearcreak GoMart for a shoplifting complaint. When deputies arrived employees told deputies that the suspect had stolen items from the store. Deputies confronted the suspect and learned that he had several outstanding warrants from Hocking County. Deputies arrested Ethan J. Fraunfleter, Logan for the warrants When deputies retrieved the stolen items from Fraunfelter’s vehicle, deputies found suspected narcotics and paraphernalia inside the vehicle. The narcotics will be sent to the BCI crime lab for analysis and future indictment. Charges for the theft were forwarded to the Prosecutor’s Office. Fraunfelter was transported to the SEORJ.
