Hocking County Sheriff E. Lanny North reports:

November 18, 2020
Deputies responded to a Stage Rd. residence after a vehicle had left the roadway, stuck the resident’s fence and then left the scene.

Deputies investigated a single vehicle crash on Nickle Plate Rd. where the driver lost control of their vehicle, traveling off the right side of the roadway into a ditch. There were no injuries reported and the vehicle was towed from the scene. The driver, a 16 year old male, was cited into Juvenile Court for Failure to Control.

Deputies investigated a private property crash on Hocking Dr. in which a vehicle backed into another parked vehicle. No injuries were reported.

A Maysville-Williams Rd. resident came to the Sheriff’s Office to report an incident of identity fraud. The complainant told deputies that someone had created several false accounts through an online company using their debit card.

November 20, 2020
Deputies responded to a Maysville-Greendale Rd. residence for an assault complaint. The complainant told deputies that after hearing gunshots behind their residence, they confronted a neighbor about the shooting. An argument ensued, but the parties separated. A short time later the complainant told deputies that the neighbor arrived at their residence and an alleged assault occurred. The case was forwarded to the Prosecutor’s Office for review.

Deputies responded to a third party complaint of a possible domestic violence incident that involved two parties in separate vehicles on Hocking Dr. Deputies located both vehicles on Well Rd. After investigating the matter, deputies learned that no violence had occurred, just arguing. The male, Kameron L. Guess, 19, Logan had an active warrant from the Logan Police Department. Guess was arrested and transported to Logan PD and released into their custody.

Deputies responded to a Charles St. address for a disorderly conduct complaint. The complainant told deputies that they had been in a previous relationship and that person is continually driving by and using vulgar language at their place of employment. The case was referred to the Sheriff’s Office Victim Advocate to provide assistance in obtaining a protection order.

November 21, 2020
Deputies responded to a Sam’s Creek Rd. residence for an unauthorized use of a motor vehicle complaint. The complainant told deputies that an acquaintance had taken the vehicle after being denied permission to have the vehicle.

November 20, 2020
Deputies responded to a Hartsough Rd. residence after the complainant told deputies that a car had pulled into their driveway, shot off several rounds from a firearm and left. No damage from the gun shots was located and the residence was placed on the extra patrol list.

November 21, 2020
Deputies responded to Old McArthur Rd. and Homer St. for a reported male making gestures and yelling at passing vehicles. When deputies arrived they found James A. Norris, 41, Logan licking the top of a fire hydrant. Norris was arrested for Disorderly Conduct by Intoxication and transported to the SEORJ.

November 22, 2020
Deputies filed a report of criminal trespass at a Frasure-Helber Rd. rental cabin. The owner provided deputies with surveillance video of a male walking on the front porch, trying the door and leaving.

Deputies filed a report of misuse of a credit card after it was reported that a credit card had been taken from the complainant’s wallet. The complainant told deputies that the credit card company had told them the card had attempted to have been used several times. The case remains under investigation.

Deputies responded to a Haydenville Rd. residence for a missing juvenile. Deputies began an investigation and a short time later the juvenile was located a family member’s residence in the City of Logan.
