April 24, 2022
Deputies responded to Happy Hollow Road to a report of domestic violence. It was reported an altercation occurred between a boyfriend and girlfriend who reside together. Deputies spoke to both parties involved. Evidence was collected and statements were obtained. The male subject was arrested for domestic violence and transported to the Southeastern Ohio Regional Jail.

Deputies responded to Goose Creek Road to a report of an assault involving juveniles. It was reported two juveniles were in an altercation. Deputies spoke to the parties involved. The juveniles were separated and the incident was referred to Hocking County Juvenile Court Probation.

Deputies responded to Clear Creek Road to a report of suspicious activity. It was reported suspicious items were located in the woods near the Metro Park. Detectives responded to the scene and processed the evidence. The incident is still under investigation.

Deputies responded to Sherman Street to a report of an unruly juvenile. It was reported that a female juvenile ran away from her residence. The female juvenile was later found at her boyfriend’s residence. She was returned to her mother’s custody.

Deputies responded to Pike Street to a report of domestic violence. It was reported an altercation occurred between a male and female subject. Deputies spoke to the male subject involved. The female subject had left before the Deputies’ arrival. Evidence was collected and statements were obtained. Charges against the female subject were filed with the Hocking County Prosecutor’s Office.

Deputies responded to Carbon Hill Buchtel Road to a report of a motorcycle crash. It was reported a motorcycle lost control on some loose gravel. The driver was ejected and landed off the roadway. No injuries were reported. A report was filed.

Deputies responded to Pleasant Valley Road to a report of domestic violence. It was reported that a juvenile had been assaulted by a male family member. Statements were obtained and evidence was collected. The male subject was arrested and transported to the Southeastern Ohio Regional Jail.

Deputies responded to Keifel Road to a report of an assault. It was reported an assault took place between two female subjects. Injuries were observed on one female who later received medical treatment. Statements were obtained and evidence was collected. Charges were filed with the Hocking County Prosecutor’s Office

Deputies responded to Gore Greendale Road to a report of a suspicious person possibly entering a residence. Deputies made contact with a female subject at the residence. It was discovered she was an employee of an insurance group who was there to access damages.

A complainant came to the Sheriff’s Office to report an incident of harassment. It was reported the complainant was receiving harassing messages over Facebook Messenger. Deputies advised the complainant to “block” the suspect on Messenger.

Deputies performed a traffic stop on Haydenville Road for a traffic offense. The driver was identified and he was driving while under suspension. A consent search of the vehicle found a small amount of marijuana and later the driver was found to have drug paraphernalia on his person. He was issued a citation and the vehicle was released to a licensed driver.

Deputies responded to State Route 93s to a person in a mental health crisis. It was reported a female was making threats of suicide. Deputies made contact with the female. She stated she never made any comments about harming herself. After speaking to the female, Deputies determined she was no harm to herself or others.

Deputies responded to Beuna Vista Road to a report of a female subject not letting a male subject leave his residence. Deputies made contact with the female at the residence. It was determined the subjects were in a verbal domestic dispute and she didn’t want the male subject to leave while intoxicated. The male subject left before Deputies’ arrival and was unable to be located.

A complainant came to the Sheriff’s Office to report a possible unlawful restraint. After speaking to the complainant it was determined the offense occurred in Pickaway County. They were referred to Circleville Police Department.

Deputies responded to Happy Hollow Road to a request of a well-being check. Deputies made contact with a male occupant at the residence that reported to have a warrant for his arrest. The children were found to be in good care. The male subject was arrested for his warrant and his father came to take custody of the children.

Deputies responded to Saunders Road to a report of a private property crash. It was reported that a vehicle was turning around in a driveway and struck another vehicle. Statements were obtained and pictures were taken. All parties were advised a report would be on file for their insurance companies.

Deputies responded to Laurel Run Road to a report of a possible domestic violence that occurred the day before. It was reported that a male and female got into an altercation. Deputies spoke to both parties involved. Statements were obtained. The incident is still under investigation.

Deputies responded to Mohler Road to a report of an unruly juvenile. It was reported a male juvenile was not listening to his parents. Deputies spoke to the juvenile and his parents. The juvenile was advised he needed to behave and listen to his parents.

Deputies assigned to Hocking Valley Community Hospital responded to the Emergency Department to a report of a person having a mental health issue. Deputies spoke to the male subject who stated he wanted to harm himself. He received mental health treatment.

Deputies responded to Laurel Run Road to a report of a private property crash. It was reported that a vehicle had struck a mailbox. A report was taken and the mailbox owner was advised a report would be on file for their insurance company.

Deputies assigned to the Hocking Valley Community Hospital responded to the Emergency Department for a report of a person in a mental health crisis. Deputies spoke to the female subject. She received mental health treatment and was later transported to another facility.

A complainant came to the Sheriff’s Office to report an incident of fraud. It was reported the complainant was scammed during a purchase of a puppy. Deputies were able to gain further information on the suspected website. The complainant was advised a report would be on file.

Deputies responded to Blum Road to a report of found property. It was reported a firearm was located lying beside the roadway. The firearm was taken and placed into evidence.

Deputies responded to Dawley New Pittsburg Road to a report of domestic violence. It was reported a male subject slapped the female complainant. Statements were obtained and evidence was collected. After the investigation, Deputies arrested the male subject and transported him to Southeastern Ohio Regional Jail.

Deputies responded to Mohler Road to a report of a natural death. It was reported an ederly male subject was found deceased in his residence. Medics from Hocking County Emergency Services responded to the scene. Hocking County Coroner was also contacted. The decedent was released to Roberts Funeral Home.

Deputies responded to Hayden Place Apartments to a report of a mental health crisis. It was reported a male subject made suicidal threats on Facebook. The male subject was transported to Hocking Valley Community Hospital for treatment.

Deputies responded to State Route 56 to a report of a possible overdose. Medics from Hocking County Emergency Services responded to the scene. Medics treated the male subject. It was also discovered the male subject had a warrant for his arrest out of Fairfield County. He was transported to Hocking Valley Community Hospital for treatment and was later released to Fairfield County for his warrant.

Deputies responded to Shriner Street to a report of criminal mischief. It was reported a residence and vehicle were struck by paintballs. Deputies took photographs of the damage. Deputies then spoke to possible suspects who reside in Adelphi. The incident is still under investigation.

Deputies responded to Homer Street to a possible death. It was reported a male decedent was located at the homeless camp along the Hocking River. Medics from the Hocking County Emergency Services responded along with Investigators from the Hocking County Coroner’s Office. Evidence was collected and statements were obtained. The decedent was later released to Heinlein-Brown Funeral Home. The reportee was found to have a warrant for his arrest from Logan Police Department. He was arrested and taken into custody by Logan Police.

A complainant came into the Sheriff’s Office to report menacing. It was reported the male subject’s Facebook account was hacked. Some sent threatening messages to the complainant’s children. Facebook has already taken the account down. The complainant requested a report to be on file.

Deputies responded to Jobs-New Pittsburg Road to a report of theft. It was reported by American Electric Power that someone stole a transformer from a power pole. There was also reported damage to the pole. Evidence was collected and the incident is still under investigation.

Deputies assigned to the Hocking Valley Community Hospital responded to the Emergency Department to a report of a female subject in a mental health crisis. Deputies spoke to the female. She was treated and later released.

Deputies responded to State Route 56 to a report of dog bite. It was reported a female juvenile was bitten on the arm by a stray dog. The juvenile was taken to Nelsonville Urgent Care for treatment. Deputies advised the complainant to contact the Sheriff’s Office if the dog returned.

Deputies assigned to Hocking Valley Community Hospital responded to the Emergency Department on an overdose. While hospital staff was attending to the female subject they located narcotics in her bra. The suspected narcotics were taken into evidence. The incident is still under investigation.

Deputies responded to Pleasant Valley Road to a report of trespassing. It was reported a subject may have been on the property of the complainant. Deputies spoke to the complainant and advised a report would be on file.

April 30, 2022
Deputies responded to State Route 56 to a report of domestic violence. It was reported a mother was abusing her child by whipping him with a belt while he held onto a stop sign. Deputies made contact with the mother and child his step-father. It was later discovered the mother kicked the child with he steel-toed boots. The mother and step-father were arrested and transported to Southeastern Ohio Regional Jail. The child was transported by Hocking County Emergency Services to Hocking Valley Community Hospital.

Deputies responded to Stump Run Road to a male subject in a mental health crisis. It was reported the male subject was being aggressive towards himself and others. Deputies spoke to the male subject and his mother. The mother was advised to contact the male subject’s doctor if his actions continue.

Deputies responded to Murphy Road to a report of domestic violence. It was reported an elderly female was being assaulted by her husband. Deputies spoke to the parties involved and discovered the female has mental health issues. Medics with Hocking County Emergency Services were requested at the scene. The female subject tried to assault the Deputies and Medics by biting, kicking, and hitting as they were trying to treat her. She was transported to Hocking Valley Community Hospital for treatment. There was no evidence that any domestic violence occurred.
