Hocking County Sheriff Reports for Week of March 27, 2022

March 27, 2022 Deputies assigned to the Hocking Valley Community Hospital responded to the Emergency Department to a report of a male subject in a mental health crisis. Deputies spoke to the male subject and he later received mental health treatment.

March 27, 2022 Deputies assigned to the Hocking Valley Community Hospital responded to the Emergency Department to a report of an overdose. It was reported a female subject had overdosed on prescription medication. Deputies spoke to the subject. The female subject received medical treatment and was released.

March 27, 2022 Deputies responded to Laurel Run Road to a report of a burglary. It was reported that someone had entered the victim’s residence and stole firearms. Evidence was collected and statements were obtained. The incident is still under investigation.

March 27, 2022 Deputies responded to State Route 278 to a report of a verbal dispute. It was reported that a verbal argument occurred between family members. Deputies spoke to all the parties involved. It was determined that the parties would separate for the evening.

March 27, 2022 Deputies responded to State Route 664S to a report of theft. It was reported that items were stolen from a local convenience store. Evidence was collected and statements were obtained. The incident was forwarded to the Hocking County Prosecutor for review and charges.

March 28, 2022 Deputies responded to Wagner Road to a report of theft. It was reported that trees were cut down on the complainant’s property. Deputies spoke to all the subjects involved. It was determined that there was a property line dispute. Deputies advised that the trees could not be sold until the dispute was settled.

March 29, 2022 Deputies responded to Purdum Road to a report of domestic violence. It was reported that an argument was occurring between two of the residents. Deputies spoke to all the parties involved and determined that no crime was committed.

March 28, 2022 Deputies responded to State Route 93 at Keota Road to a report of criminal damaging. It was reported that a male subject kicked a vehicle. The suspect fled the area before the Deputies’ arrival. Statements were obtained and pictures were taken of the damages. The incident is still under investigation.

March 28, 2022 Deputies responded to Old McArthur Road to a report of criminal mischief. It was reported that two juveniles were shooting a paintball gun at vehicles. The juveniles were located and contact was made with their parents. Statements were obtained and pictures of the damage were taken. The paintball gun was also seized. The incident was forwarded to the Hocking County Prosecutors Office for charges.

March 28, 2022 Deputies responded to Pleasant Valley Road to a report of an unruly juvenile. It was reported that a female juvenile ran away from home. The female was located later at a different residence and was returned to her parents.

March 29, 2022 Deputies responded to Sherman Street to a report of an assault. It was reported that two females got into a physical altercation. Deputies spoke to all the parties involved and later arrested the suspect for assault. She was transported to Fairfield County Jail.

March 29, 2022 Deputies responded to Bear Run Road to a report of breaking and entering. It was reported that a vehicle was stolen from the garage at the residence. The vehicle was located in the City of Logan with the male suspect driving it. The male suspect was detained and the vehicle was returned to the owner. Charges were filed with the Hocking County Prosecutors Office.

March 30, 2022 Deputies responded to Pleasant Valley Road to a report of menacing. It was reported that an ex-boyfriend texted the female victim and threatened her. The victim was unable to provide a copy of the text message. The victim has blocked the ex-boyfriend and was advised that a report would be on file.

March 30, 2022 Deputies responded to Davis Chapel Road to a report of a suspicious vehicle. It was reported that a vehicle was parked in a cemetery. It was discovered that the vehicle was stolen out of Perry County. The vehicle was towed from the scene and later processed at the Sheriff’s Office. Several items inside the vehicle were discovered to be stolen. The incident is still under investigation.

March 30, 2022 Deputies assigned to the Hocking Valley Community Hospital responded to the Emergency Department on a report of a person in a mental health crisis. The female subject received mental health treatment.

March 30, 2022 Deputies received a complaint at the Sheriff’s Office regarding a theft. It was reported that prescription medication was stolen/missing from the complainant. A written statement was taken and a report was completed.

March 30, 2022 Deputies responded to Walnut Dowler Road to an ATV accident. It was reported that a female juvenile was injured as a result of the crash. Medics from the Hocking County Emergency Services were on the scene treating the female juvenile. She was transported to Hocking Valley Community Hospital.

March 31, 2022 Deputies performed a traffic stop on Harsh Road at Old McArthur Road. During the traffic stop it was discovered the driver had a warrant for his arrest. The driver was also in possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia. Evidence was collected which will be sent to the Bureau of Criminal Investigation for testing. The driver was arrested and transported to the South Eastern Ohio Regional Jail.

March 31, 2022 Deputies responded to the Hocking County Fairgrounds to a report of criminal mischief. It was reported a window was broken on the American Legion building. Pictures of the damage. A report will be on file.

March 31, 2022 Deputies responded to Cherry Crest Drive to a report of harassment. It was reported that a female subject was receiving harassing text messages. Statements were obtained and copies of the text messages were collected. The incident is still under investigation.

March 31, 2022 Deputies responded to Hocking Drive at Well Road to a report of theft. It was reported that a vehicle was stolen and was possibly still in the area. Deputies located the vehicle a short time later. The vehicle was processed for evidence. The incident is still under investigation.

March 31, 2022 Deputies responded to Feathers Road to a report of a missing person. It was reported a male subject has not been heard from in a couple of days. Information was obtained on the male subject. The incident is still under investigation.

March 31, 2022 Deputies responded to Sand Run Road to a report of an overdose. It was reported a female subject had overdosed. Medics from the Hocking County Emergency Services were on scene treating the female subject. She was transported to Hocking Valley Community Hospital for treatment.

April 1, 2022 Deputies responded to the Hocking Valley Community Hospital to recover narcotics. It was reported a patient had narcotics on him that he was wanted to turn over to the Sheriff’s Office. The narcotics were taken and the subject received mental health treatment.

April 1, 2022 Deputies responded to Purdum Road to a report of domestic violence. It was reported that a male subject his ex-wife had assaulted each other. Deputies obtained statements and pictures were taken. The incident was forwarded to the Hocking County Prosecutors Office for charges.

April 2, 2022 Deputies responded to Rock Alley to a report of domestic violence. It was reported a female subject assaulted her father. Statements were obtained and pictures of the injuries were taken. The female subject was arrested and transported to the South Eastern Ohio Regional Jail. Charges were filed with the Hocking County Prosecutors Office.

April 2, 2022 Deputies responded to Haydenville Road to a report of domestic violence. It was reported that a male subject was having mental issues. While at the residence the male subject threatened the female occupant. The male subject was arrested and taken to South Eastern Ohio Regional Jail
