Homeland Credit Union Announces 2025 Scholarship Program

Homeland Credit Union has launched its 2025 scholarship program, offering an opportunity for high school seniors to receive financial support for their college education. The program will award twenty $1,000 scholarships, along with an additional $1,000 18-month certificate of deposit, to eligible students within the Homeland Credit Union membership area.

Eligibility Criteria

To apply, students must meet the following requirements:

  • Be a member of Homeland Credit Union or a dependent of a current member.
  • Be a high school senior with a minimum 2.5 GPA.
  • Graduate in 2025.

Note: Employees, directors, management, staff, and their dependents are not eligible.

Application Requirements

Applicants must submit the following materials online by Saturday, March 1, 2025:

  • A letter of reference from a high school principal, teacher, administrator, counselor, or coach highlighting the applicant’s character and leadership skills.
  • A high school transcript reflecting the applicant’s cumulative GPA.
  • A student information sheet detailing leadership roles, community involvement, school clubs, and organizations over the past four years.
  • Employment history, including part-time work such as babysitting or family jobs.
  • A 500-word essay answering:
    “Credit unions are not-for-profit financial institutions whose purpose is to serve their members. How can Homeland Credit Union better serve its under 25-year-old members?”
  • A current photo for promotional use (not shared with the selection committee).

Submission Details

Applications and supporting documents must be submitted online at homelandcu.com/about-us/scholarships. Incomplete applications will be reviewed based on submitted materials only. No follow-ups will be made for missing documents.
