HURRICANE DORIAN – The monster storm has now reached Category 5 status this morning and shows zero signs of letting up. Maximum sustained winds are at 175 MPH, and gusts are exceeding 200 MPH. The storm as of 10:30 AM This Morning was close to the Abaco Island sin the Northern Bahamas. Complete devastation is likely. The model data has trended slightly closer to the Florida coast for a landfall, and some degree of uncertainty remains.
The forecast cone is still very wide due to the fine details we will have to watch closely as the storm slowly drifts across the Northern Bahamas. We are expecting a turn to the northwest at some point in the next 24 hours, however when the exact turn happens remains unknown and will play a role in where the storm tracks.
