Karen Blanton, age 75, of Dublin and previously of So. Vienna, OH, passed away Sunday September 10, 2017 at Country Club Rehabilitation Center in Delaware, OH. She was born in Rupert, WV to the late Don and Mona Burns. Retired as a Housekeeping Supervisor for Roxanne Laboratories. Karen enjoyed Bible studies, family gatherings, the Cincinnati Reds and Ohio State Buckeyes Basketball. She attended Hayden Run Baptist Church. Preceded in death by parents; husband of 36 years, Charles; brother, Bill Burns; and sister, Jenny Thomas. Survived by children, Bob (Janice) Blanton of So. Charleston, OH, Sherry (Mark) Allen of Gilberts, IL, and John (Janet) Blanton of Lewis Center, OH; grandchildren, Jesse, Sarah, Kayla, and Carlie Blanton; siblings, Bob (Nancy) Burns and Marie Moore; numerous nieces, nephews, other family members, and friends.
Friends may call Wednesday, September 13, 2017 from 5 p.m. until time of funeral service at 7 p.m. at the TIDD FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 5265 Norwich St. in Hilliard, OH. A brief interment service will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, September 14, 2017, at Mound Cemetery in Piketon, OH. In lieu of flowers, family encourages contributions in Karen’s memory to Capital City Hospice of Columbus, OH. Karen’s family would like express their heartfelt gratitude to the staff and her friends at Country Club, as well as the “Angels” at Capital City Hospice, especially Penny and Becca.
