KINGSTON, OH – January 30, 2025 – A 64-year-old Kingston woman has died following a fatal crash on State Route 180 earlier this month, authorities confirm.

According to the Ohio State Highway Patrol, the accident occurred on January 15, 2025, around 5 p.m., when a 2018 Toyota Corolla driven by 24-year-old Skyler Reed was traveling northeast on SR-180. The vehicle crossed the centerline, forcing an oncoming 2012 Chevrolet Cruze, driven by 68-year-old Roger Congrove, to swerve into the opposite lane to avoid a collision. However, Reed then corrected back into the appropriate lane, resulting in a head-on collision with Congrove’s vehicle.

Three people were injured in the crash:

  • Skyler Reed sustained minor injuries and was transported to Adena Hospital.
  • Roger Congrove suffered injuries and was also hospitalized.
  • Sue Congrove, 64, a passenger in the Cruze, was transported to Adena Regional Hospital in serious condition, where she later succumbed to her injuries.

Authorities continue to investigate the incident.
