Laikyn Ashley Wisecarver, 27 of Zanesville gained her wings and went on to be with our Lord Jesus on Friday, March 19, 2021 from an accidental overdose. She was born, January 24, 1994 in Zanesville, Ohio to Jodi (Denis) Niceswanger and Ron (Chris) Wisecarver and was a member of Cornerstone Church in Duncan Falls, Ohio.
Laikyn was known for her infectious laugh, her strong personality and above all, her love for her family and friends. She could light up a room with her beautiful smile. With Laikyn you never had to worry about where you stood with her. She was employed as a Case Manager at Pickaway Area Recovery.
Laikyn has struggled with addiction for many years. In January, Laikyn celebrated 1-year of sobriety and recently started working in recovery. Sobriety and her faith allowed her to accomplish many of her life goals and we couldn’t have been more proud. If only we would have known how bad she was struggling with recent events… The disease of addiction is merciless and does not discriminate. It is up to us to open our hearts and our minds to those that are sick and suffering. We need to fight in her memory for all that she stood for, she would want us to speak up about what is happening with this epidemic. We will never stop telling her story and we will never forget that she was an amazing, beautiful young woman who had a bright future. By sharing her story with others, we hope and pray that it will touch the lives of others struggling with addiction.
Laikyn is survived by her mother, Jodi (Denis) Niceswanger and father, Ron (Chris) Wisecarver; brothers, Austin Niceswanger and Cody Niceswanger; step-brothers, Mason & Caleb Williams; grandparents, Steve & Pat Harrop and Dick & Christine Wisecarver; step-grandparents, John & Amy Niceswanger, Tim & Sherry Dickerson, Martin & Shelby Sheck; step great-grandparent, Eddie Dunn; her maternal uncle & aunt, Jamie & Christy Harrop and Tye & Stephanie Jones; her paternal uncle & aunt, Jim & Kelly Dumolt and Curt & Leslie McCort; many beloved family members, friends, her best friend, Heaven Smitley and special little girl in her life, Naomi Smitley.
