LANCASTER, OH – Christopher Wagoner, 39, and Randolph Wagoner, 62, both of Lancaster, have been indicted on felony drug charges after a traffic stop and subsequent search of their residence yielded significant quantities of fentanyl and methamphetamine.

On March 21, 2025, officers from the Lancaster Police Department’s (LPD) Directed Patrol Unit conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle driven by Christopher Wagoner, with Randolph Wagoner as a passenger. LPD K9 Barry was deployed and alerted officers to the presence of narcotics in the vehicle. A search of the vehicle resulted in the discovery of approximately 13.5 grams of fentanyl.

Following this discovery, officers obtained a search warrant for the Wagoners’ residence at 400 Miller Avenue. This address was known to law enforcement as a location associated with drug activity and was the site of a fatal overdose late last year. The search of the residence led to the seizure of 87 grams of methamphetamine and an additional 15 grams of fentanyl.

Today, the Wagoners were indicted on charges of Possession of a Fentanyl-Related Compound (First-Degree Felony) and Aggravated Trafficking of Drugs (Second-Degree Felony).

Authorities emphasized the extreme danger posed by fentanyl, noting that just two milligrams (2/1000th of a gram) can be lethal to humans. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), synthetic opioids like fentanyl are the leading cause of 1 overdose deaths in the United States. The significant quantities of fentanyl seized in this case underscore the serious threat these drugs pose to the community.
