Lancaster Police Investigate Shooting Incident on S. Columbus St.

LANCASTER, Ohio — Early Saturday morning, August 31, 2024, at 2:09 a.m., the Lancaster Police Department responded to reports of gunshots in the 200 block of S. Columbus Street. Upon arrival, officers discovered several shell casings and a firearm at the scene. Detectives were subsequently called in to investigate.

Initial reports indicated that a physical altercation involving multiple individuals had occurred. During the confrontation, as a victim attempted to drive away, multiple gunshots were fired, striking the victim’s vehicle. Although the victim was injured during the assault, they were not hit by the gunfire.

Three individuals were arrested in connection with the incident. Lonzo Doughty, 37, and Mandela Kristos, 38, both from Columbus, were charged with felonious assault. Juan Gover, 41, from Reynoldsburg, was arrested for disorderly conduct related to intoxication. All three suspects have been transported to the Fairfield County Jail.

The Lancaster Police Department continues to investigate the case.
