Laura Isabelle (Smith) Harmon, age 97, left this life for Heaven October 12, 2017. She was born June 10, 1920 to Joseph and Thelma (Johnston) Smith. Laura’s parents, her husband Wayne Harmon, daughter Thelma Mae (Harmon) Congrove, brothers Joe and Tom Smith preceded her in death. Laura is survived by daughter and son-in-law with whom she made her home, Sondra (Charles) Ebert. Also surviving are grandchildren Renee Canfield, Don-Max Nida, Randy Congrove, Sidney Congrove, brother Claude Smith, sisters Rosie Evans and Norma Courson; son-in-law Donald Congrove, sisters-in-law Wanda Harmon, Martha Smith and Minerva Smith, several great grandchildren, 2 special step grandsons Charles and Mitchell Ebert and by several step great grandchildren. Laura will also be sadly missed by many brothers and sisters in Christ along with numerous nieces and nephews, cousins, friends and neighbors. The family wishes to extend grateful thanks for the loving care extended by the hospice staff, home visits from Dr. Bohlen and Chaplain Jim Ferrell. In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to Berger Hospice or a charity of choice. Funeral services will be held on Monday, October 16, 2017 at 3:00 p.m. at Wellman Funeral Home, Laurelville with Chaplain Jim Ferrell officiating. Burial will follow in Green Summit Cemetery.
