Laurelville – Five people were able to escape a home fire this morning with just the clothes on their backs, but unharmed.
According to reports the fire broke out in the family home around 4 am on January 7th in the village of Adelphi. Family members tell Sciotopost that the fire ignited and spread quickly destroying the 1856 historical home. After the firefighters were able to extinguish the fires a rekindle occurred hours later and the department had to dump more water on the fire.
A GoFundMe has been set up for the people who had to immediately evacuate without the ability to collect any of their belongings. Currently, Red Cross has been called in to help the victims, but the fundraiser is collecting to help cover the expense of clothes, food, and relocation. Any donation is appreciated.
