Over the weekend, a Laurelville woman sustained injuries after her vehicle overturned in a dramatic accident, according to the Ohio State Highway Patrol in Chillicothe. The incident involved Laurel Carroll, a resident of Laurelville, Ohio, who was driving a 2008 Toyota Yaris southbound on State Route 159 in Green Township.

Reports indicate on 7/15/24 that Carroll’s vehicle veered off the right side of SR 159, crossed the center line, and subsequently went off the left side of the roadway. The vehicle then proceeded down an embankment, ultimately overturning during the course of the incident. Fortunately, Carroll was the sole occupant of the vehicle and suffered only minor injuries as a result of the crash.

Following the accident, Carroll was cited for “operation of vehicle without reasonable control,” highlighting the circumstances leading up to the crash. Emergency responders were promptly dispatched to the scene to provide assistance, and Carroll received medical attention for her injuries.

Local authorities remind drivers to exercise caution and maintain control of their vehicles at all times, especially when navigating challenging road conditions or unexpected situations. The Ohio State Highway Patrol continues to investigate the specifics of the incident to determine any additional factors that may have contributed to the accident.
