Licking County – A K-9 officer from the Licking county sheriffs department was put down today after being struck by a vehicle after escaping from his handler.
According to Licking County Sheriff’s office just after a shift, around 8 pm K9 Apollo escaped his handler, while transferring the dog from the vehicle to his home. The K-9 after running away was struck by a vehicle around the 7200 blocks of Havens corner road and had to be put down because of the level of his injuries.
