COLUMBUS, Ohio, (June 8, 2022) — Pizza Cottage, a locally owned, independent pizza shop, is celebrating its 50th Anniversary throughout June.

Founded in 1972 by Jack and Yvonne Gorham, the business has expanded by operating on the following principles: always use the finest ingredients available, treat your customers and employees like family and always give back to the community.

Pizza Cottage is now owned by Lancaster entrepreneur Larry E. Tipton, who took over the Pizza Cottage franchise in 2017 and has since opened three (soon to be four) locations in the past 17 months. There are currently nine Pizza Cottage locations throughout Ohio. The locations include Athens, Buckeye Lake, Circleville, Grove City, Lancaster, Newark, Pickerington, Powell/Lewis Center, and Zanesville.

Pizza Cottage has been a staple pizza restaurant in Ohio and was even ranked in the top 10 in Pizza Today magazine, the leading publication of the $37 billion pizza industry. In addition, Pizza Cottage started their “Eat Pizza. Raise Dough.” fundraiser that helps local communities and organizations by donating 10% of all pre-taxed, dine-in food sales from any guest that comes in for the event.

“We are honored to be part of these communities who’ve enjoyed and supported Pizza Cottage throughout the past 50 years,” said Tipton. “So many of our customers and employees have become like family. I’m truly humbled by the support and loyalty we’ve received over the years.”

In honor of its golden anniversary, Pizza Cottage plans to let customers submit a 50th-anniversary pizza idea to have their pizza added to the limited time only menu and give away $20 gift certificates as well as a chance to win a free pizza. Follow their Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram pages to stay up to date on their 50th-anniversary promotions!
