In the early hours of March 24, 2024, Wellston Police officers initiated a routine traffic stop on a vehicle due to a license plate violation. The driver, identified as Brian Wiseman, aged 52 and hailing from Londonderry, came under scrutiny after officers discovered an active warrant for his arrest issued by the Vinton County Sheriff’s Office.
Upon further investigation, officers uncovered a startling discovery. During a search of Wiseman’s person, authorities stumbled upon approximately 25 grams of suspected Methamphetamine concealed within his coat pocket. The revelation prompted a thorough examination of the vehicle, leading to the discovery of additional contraband.
Inside a metal box tucked away in the trunk area, officers unearthed approximately 16 grams of suspected cocaine and suspected fentanyl. The combined findings amounted to a significant haul of illicit substances, raising concerns over the extent of drug activity within the community.
In response to the discoveries, Wiseman was promptly cited for the license plate violation. Subsequently, he was turned over to the custody of the Vinton County Sheriff’s Office to address the pending warrant against him.
However, Wiseman’s legal woes are far from over. Law enforcement officials anticipate further charges to be levied against him pending the results of laboratory tests conducted by the Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigation. These tests aim to confirm the nature and composition of the seized substances, providing critical evidence for future legal proceedings.
