Man Arrested in Shots Fired Incident in Ashville

ASHVILLE, Ohio – Law enforcement responded to a shots fired incident early Saturday morning, July 20, 2024, prompting a swift response from law enforcement and a series of charges against the suspect involved.

At approximately 2:30 AM, the Pickaway County Sheriff’s Office received a 911 call alerting them to gunfire in the vicinity of South Bloomfield Royalton Road and Hedgesview Drive. The caller reported multiple shots, potentially from a 9mm pistol.

Responding to the scene were officers from the Pickaway County Sheriff office and the Ohio State Highway Patrol. Upon arrival, they encountered several individuals described as intoxicated. Among them was identified the alleged shooter, 35-year-old Skyler McNamara.

McNamara was swiftly taken into custody without incident. Authorities confirmed that no injuries were reported from the incident.

According to law enforcement officials, McNamara faces multiple charges including aggravated menacing, having weapons while under disability, using weapons while intoxicated, and domestic violence.

As of now, McNamara remains incarcerated at the Pickaway County Sheriff’s Jail pending a court appearance.
