COLUMBUS – Police responded today to a standoff situation on the 6800 Block of Havens Rd. Police responded to the area when police were called on a domestic situation at the home. SWAT became involved when police arrived to a man in the driveway with a gun and the man entered the house and barricade himself inside with a woman and children.
We are on scene of an active police situation in the 6800 block of Havens Rd. In Jefferson Twp. The situation is contained. Havens Rd is closed between Reynoldsburg-New Albany Rd and Colts Neck Rd.

Negotiators/SWAT were able to talk the man into releasing the woman and kids and then he safely was taken into custody. Police have the man in custody at this time and charges are pending.
UPDATE:Regarding the police situation in the 6800 Blcok of Havens Rd, the situation is now contained with the suspect under arrest. Our Negotiators/SWAT were able to take him safely into custody.Thanks to the quick response of our patrol deputies, @GahannaPD & Jefferson Twp. Fire
