Chillicothe, OH – May 7, 2024 – A disturbance at the Speedway gas station located at 10 N Bridge Street led to the arrest of Andrew J. Mccutcheon on charges of assault, resisting arrest, and criminal trespass.
According to the initial and supplemental reports provided by Officer Justin Tuttle, dispatched to the scene, the incident unfolded when Mccutcheon allegedly punched the gas station cashier, Brittany D. Estep, in the face after she confronted him while he was rummaging through the back dumpster. Estep retreated into the Speedway and locked the doors, prompting Mccutcheon’s unsuccessful attempt to gain entry.
Upon Officer Tuttle’s arrival, Mccutcheon had reportedly fled the scene but was later found by the officer in a covered patio behind 312 E 2nd Street. Mccutcheon allegedly exhibited aggressive behavior towards Officer Tuttle, leading to a physical altercation during the arrest. Despite Mccutcheon’s resistance, Officer Tuttle successfully detained him and placed him under arrest.
Mccutcheon was subsequently transported to the Ross County Jail, where he is being held in lieu of bond pending his initial court appearance scheduled for May 7, 2024, at 9:00 AM in the Chillicothe Municipal Court. Brittany D. Estep, the victim, did not sustain any visible injuries during the altercation.
