McDonald’s Phases Out Self-Serve Drink Stations and Free Refills
McDonald’s is making significant changes to its beverage service, and customers are beginning to feel the impact. A few months after the fast-food giant announced the removal of self-serve drink stations, patrons are noticing the absence of this popular feature in restaurants.
Adding to the disappointment, some McDonald’s locations are now discontinuing free refills altogether. A representative confirmed to Business Insider last year that over-the-counter refills would be “at the discretion of individual restaurant owner/operators.”
Despite McDonald’s plans to introduce a new $5 value meal and its biggest burger ever, many customers remain frustrated by the loss of self-serve drink stations and free refills.
