Reedsville, Meigs County – A routine traffic stop conducted by deputies from the Meigs County Sheriff’s Office took a dangerous turn on Pine Tree Drive in Reedsville on Saturday evening around 6:30 PM.
According to reports from deputies, upon being pulled over, the female occupant of the vehicle fled the scene on foot, prompting law enforcement to request a tow company to impound the vehicle.
However, the situation escalated when a male individual arrived at the scene and attempted to flee in the vehicle. The man, identified as Shane Dotson, was swiftly apprehended and transported to the Middleport Jail. Dotson faces multiple charges, including assault on a Peace Officer, obstructing official business, and tampering with evidence.
Meanwhile, the female suspect, identified as Rylee Fox, was later located and also taken into custody. Fox faces charges of obstruction and driving under suspension.
During the incident, a Meigs County Sheriff’s Deputy sustained injuries and was subsequently airlifted to Saint Mary’s Medical Center in Huntington, West Virginia. Fortunately, the deputy was treated for his injuries and later discharged from the hospital.
