WILLIAMSPORT, Ohio (April 7, 2025) — A heartbreaking tragedy has rocked a local family and the community this weekend after a beloved mini pony named Cyclone was found fatally shot in his own pen.

The incident occurred sometime between Friday, April 4 and Saturday, April 5 in the 9000 block of Route 22 in Williamsport, Pickaway County. Cyclone, described by his family as more than just a pet, was discovered shot and killed — an act that has left his owners, including long-time Ross County Humane Society team member Cheryl, devastated.

While the case is not officially connected to the Ross County Humane Society, Cheryl’s colleagues and friends have stepped forward to offer a $750 reward for information that leads to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for this cruel act.

Authorities are urging anyone with information to contact the Pickaway County Sheriff’s Department directly. Additional tips can be directed to the Ross County Humane Society at 740-775-6808 or via email at [email protected], where staff will help forward information to the appropriate authorities.

Those wishing to contribute to the reward fund are encouraged to reach out via direct message to the individuals coordinating the effort.

As the investigation continues, the community is being asked to stay alert, spread the word, and come forward with any leads.
