February 5, 2025 – A recent session of the Court of Common Pleas, presided over by Judge Matthew H. Chafin, saw several individuals facing a variety of charges, ranging from assault to drug possession and theft.
Among the cases heard:
- Renee E. Depalo, 33, of Massillon, Ohio, pleaded not guilty to charges of complicity to illegal conveyance of weapons or prohibited items onto the grounds of a detention facility (F3) and was granted personal recognizance bond pending trial.
- Romeo Teves, 34, of Germantown, MD, faced multiple counts of vehicular assault (F4) and felonious assault (F2). He also pleaded not guilty and was released on a recognizance bond until his next court date.
- Silas E. Harlow, 29, of Circleville Youth Center, was charged with operating a motor vehicle while under the influence (Misdemeanor). His case was bound over to a March 26, 2025, court hearing.
- Deveron Bracey, 19, pleaded guilty to an assault (F4) charge and was sentenced to 18 months in CRC (Correctional Reception Center).
- Eric L. Benford, 39, of Akron, faced multiple charges, including failure to appear (F4) and theft (F5). He pleaded not guilty and had his bond set at $10,000. His next hearing is scheduled for February 13, 2025.
- Kelsey L. Jenkins, 24, of Zanesville, faced felony drug possession (F5) and pled guilty, receiving a 10-month prison sentence in Marysville.
