ATHENS – A woman has been murdered by her live in boyfriend and then the man killed himself in Athens county on Friday.
According to Athens Sheriff department “On November 26th, 2021, Athens County 911 received a 911 call with an open line at 5:08am.” Deputies and dispatchers determined the call originated from an address on McDougal Road in Millfield, Ohio. Deputies were dispatched to the location and upon arrival received no answer at the door. Deputies located an open door at the rear of the residence, entered the home, and discovered a male and female deceased. Detectives from the Sheriff’s Office were notified and responded to process the scene.
Evidence shows that a dispute took place and Jennifer Draper, age 40, was killed by a single shotgun round. Her live in partner, Christopher Roach, age 43 of Leon, West Virginia, then committed suicide.
Both decedents were removed and transported to the Montgomery County Coroner’s Office for autopsies as ordered by the Athens County Coroner.
The investigation into this incident is still on-going.
