Due to violating the Big Ten’s Sportsmanship Policy, a Nebraska football player has been suspended.

Defensive Lineman, Khalil Davis was suspended for one game by the conference for his hard-hit on an Ohio State player during this past weeks game.

“The Big Ten Conference expects all contests involving a member institution to be conducted without compromise to any fundamental element of sportsmanship,” said the Big Ten in a statement. “Such fundamental elements include integrity of the competition, civility toward all, and respect, particularly toward opponents and officials.”

The conference said no further comments would be shared on the matter.

Davis had been previously honored last year as the Husker’s Defensive Lineman of the Year and also received Honorable Mention All-Big Ten media.

Ohio State next takes on Michigan State at Ohio Stadium this Saturday at 7:30 p.m.
