David Glass, freshman Ross County Commissioner.

Ross County, Ohio, & Washington D.C. — David Glass is the freshman commissioner for Ross County, having started his first four-year term this January. I asked him about his previous political and economic activity, as well as an excursion to Washington, D.C.

Glass won the commissioner’s seat that Dwight Garrett retired from, helping to keep the three commissioners Republican. He retired from being the chair of the Ross County Republican Party before being sworn-in.

I also asked him about being on NBC 4 WCMH-TV in Columbus. He said they were just a few appearances during the fall election season on their Sunday show “Spectrum,” and he doesn’t anticipate more.

Glass said his experience with economic development prepared him much better for the role as commissioner – working for AEP, Pickaway County, and Ohio. And, he says has been working closely with Oody Lowe and Jack Everson, with a full schedule and ambitious plans for the year.

But Glass took a break soon after starting his new job. He says he was part of the delegation of the Ohio Republican Party to the inauguration of Donald Trump. He felt it was especially special with the first vice president from Ohio in more than a century. He couldn’t remember how long it was, but the previous Ohio VP’s all had beards – and J.D. Vance is the first modern one with facial hair.

He said it was his first inauguration, and Washington D.C. was great and meaningful, with all the history and celebration. Glass said it was a strange time too – with massive security, many closed streets, and a large military presence.

Hear Glass in his own words in the below video interview.
