A routine weekend gathering took a dramatic turn when a person began choking on food, prompting a frantic 911 call that led to a heartwarming display of community service.
The Logan County Sheriff’s Office received a distress call reporting a female choking on food during a family gathering. Dispatch, utilizing GPS tracking of law enforcement units, quickly identified a nearby patrol unit and dispatched Deputy Sheeley to the scene.
Upon arrival, Deputy Sheeley was shocked to realize that the distressed household was none other than his own family’s. The gravity of the situation hit home when he recognized the choking victim as his own grandmother. Without hesitation, Deputy Sheeley sprang into action, administering life-saving measures to his beloved relative.
Fortunately, Deputy Sheeley’s swift response was augmented by the timely arrival of emergency medical services. Together, they managed to stabilize the grandmother until further medical assistance arrived.
