Ohio House Passes Bill to Give Millions to Southern Ohio

COLUMBUS – This week, State Representative Mark Johnson (R-Chillicothe) voted ‘yes’ on House Bill 377, legislation to allocate the second phase of American Rescue Plan Act funds across Ohio. 

“I’m thankful to the bill sponsors for their diligent work on getting this bill passed,” said Johnson. “This funding is going to be important to the 92nd House District as Ohio continues to recover from the pandemic.” 

The cities and townships in the 92nd House District expected to receive funding are:

·         City of Washington Court House, $ 740,969.94

·         Village of Bloomingburg, $ 48,114.93

·         Village of Jeffersonville, $ 61,629.18

·         Concord Township, $ 46,116.72

·         Green Township, $ 27,238.84

·         Jasper Township, $ 30,078.41

·         Jefferson Township, $ 72,251.28

·         Madison Township, $ 57,422.41

·         Marion Township, $ 33,601.58

·         Paint Township, $ 53,583.74

·         Perry Township, $ 54,214.75

·         Wayne Township, $ 70,831.49

·         City of Circleville, $ 738,813.97

·         Village of Commercial Point, $ 88,289.59

·         Darby Township, $ 184,151.36

·         Monroe Township, $ 68,307.43

·         Scioto Township, $ 461,324.91

·         Wayne Township, $ 28,606.04

·         City of Chillicothe, $ 1,142,243.21

·         Village of Bainbridge, $ 44,696.93

The funding comes in alignment with the 12 month gap the state was required to enforce between the first and second phase of funding, a provision by the federal government. Ohio allocated the first phase in June 2021.

H.B. 377 now heads to the Ohio Senate for further consideration.
