OHIO – Lawmakers have introduced a bill into the House that would limit how drag performances are performed.
House Bill 245, titled “Prohibits certain adult cabaret performances” would add “performers or entertainers who exhibit a gender identity that is different from the performer’s or entertainer’s gender assigned at birth using clothing, makeup, prosthetic or imitation genitals or breasts,
or other physical markers; or other similar performers or entertainers who provide entertainment that appeals to a prurient interest, regardless of whether or not the performance is for consideration.” to adult cabarets places that are identified as adult entertainment facilities limiting them from places like libraries and public exhibitions.
Under the bill, anyone caught outside of an adult facility would be subject to arrest and fines.
