Harveysburg, OH – As the Ohio Renaissance Festival gears up for its 35th season, enthusiasts and newcomers alike are preparing for a journey back in time to the village of Willy-Nilly. This year’s festivities promise a blend of historical immersion and fantastical entertainment that has captivated audiences for decades.

Since its inception, the Ohio Renaissance Festival has evolved significantly, expanding from its humble beginnings to include new attractions like Whimsy Woods. Reflecting on the journey, festival organizers reminisce about the early years when the grounds were a sprawling field dotted with booths and stages, devoid of shade. Now, as the festival prepares for its landmark year, it stands as a testament to growth and adaptation in bringing history and fantasy to life.

“To provide a better experience for patrons attending the festival, the Ohio Ren Fest will now be limiting its capacity,” announced festival organizers. This change underscores the importance of purchasing tickets in advance to secure entry on specific dates. Season pass holders and Any Day Adult ticket holders will enjoy guaranteed admission, ensuring they can partake in the festivities without worry.

Spanning weekends from Labor Day through October’s end, the festival will feature a wide array of entertainment, including full-armored jousting reminiscent of ancient tournaments, presided over by Queen Elizabeth I herself. Over 100 daily shows on 17 stages will showcase Renaissance musicians, dancers, comedians, jugglers, sword-fighters, storytellers, and hundreds of costumed performers, promising entertainment for visitors of all ages.

Artisans from around the world will offer their wares at the festival’s unique marketplace, displaying crafts ranging from glassblowing and jewelry making to blacksmithing and leather crafting. Meanwhile, foodies can indulge in giant turkey legs, steak-on-a-stake, hearty ales, flavorful wines, and a variety of other Renaissance-inspired treats.

Among the festival’s must-see attractions are The Swordsmen, masters of comedic swordplay; Ichabod Wainright’s death-defying Wheel of Death; and the Theatre In The Ground, where literary classics meet comedic flair in Ohio’s only Muditorium. The Kamikaze Fireflies will also dazzle with their daring feats and comedic stunts.

Visitors are encouraged to test their skills in the gaming area, explore the Tower of London Dungeon of Doom, and enjoy human-powered rides while mingling with royalty in the immersive world of the 2024 Ohio Renaissance Festival.
