Ohio State Highway Patrol Chillicothe Post Trooper of the Year

CHILLICOTHE, OH – Ohio State Highway Patrol Trooper Tyler L. Boetcher has been named the 2024 Trooper of the Year at the Chillicothe Post in recognition of his exceptional service throughout the year. The 30-year-old trooper was selected for this prestigious award by his peers due to his outstanding work ethic, leadership qualities, community involvement, and professionalism in his interactions with supervisors, colleagues, and the public.

Trooper Boetcher’s selection places him in contention for the District and State Trooper of the Year Awards, which will be announced at a later date.

Throughout his career, Trooper Boetcher has earned numerous accolades, including the Criminal Patrol Award from 2016 to 2024 and the ACE Award for his exemplary performance in 2017, 2018, 2019, and 2021. In 2019, he also received the Blue Max Award for recovering the most stolen vehicles in Ohio.

A member of the 159th Academy Class, Trooper Boetcher joined the Ohio State Highway Patrol in 2015 and has since served at the Lebanon Post, the Chillicothe Post, and the Jackson District Criminal Patrol Section. A graduate of Teays Valley High School in Pickaway County, Trooper Boetcher now resides in Chillicothe with his wife, Tayde, and their two children, Tia and Truitt.

His selection as Trooper of the Year highlights his dedication to his duties and his positive impact on both his team and the community.
