Attention Ohio Firefighters:
The Ohio Fire Academy is hosting its highly anticipated Ohio Volunteer Firefighters Weekend on April 5-6, 2025. This special event offers free training through four essential courses, providing a unique opportunity for firefighters to enhance their skills and knowledge.

Courses Offered:
- Pumps and Mobile Water Supply: This course, meeting NFPA 1010 Chapter 17 standards, will teach safe and efficient tanker/tender operations during water shuttle procedures.
- Fire Dynamics: Intended for all fire service personnel, this class covers traditional fire dynamics, the changes in fire behavior over the last 20-30 years, and the implications of these changes for suppression, investigation, and public safety.
- Vehicle Extrication and Alternative Fuel Vehicles: Learn the techniques of vehicle extrication, with a focus on both standard passenger vehicles and the unique challenges posed by alternative fuel vehicles.
- Structural Fire Attack Lab: This hands-on course is designed for all levels of firefighters. Participants will engage in live fire exercises, learning to understand the destructive power of fire in the academy’s Fire Behavior Lab’s Flashover trailer.
