OVERNIGHT – Chillicothe NOAA Weather Radio Goes Out During Severe Weather

CHILLICOTHE, Ohio – As severe weather swept through the region early Thursday, the Chillicothe National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) Weather Radio went out of service, leaving residents without a critical source of emergency weather alerts.

The National Weather Service (NWS) Wilmington, OH confirmed the outage in a post on X at 1:34 a.m., urging residents to seek alternative ways to receive weather warnings.

“[1:35 AM] The Chillicothe NOAA Weather Radio is currently out of service. HAVE OTHER WAYS TO RECEIVE WARNING INFORMATION!!!” the post read.

Officials have not yet provided details on when service will be restored. Residents are encouraged to stay informed through local news stations, weather apps, and emergency alerts on their mobile devices.
