Pickaway County, OH — A high-speed police pursuit that began in the Village of Commercial Point late Thursday night came to a dramatic end on State Route 104, thanks to the combined efforts of local law enforcement agencies and quick action by the Pickaway County Sheriff’s Office.

At approximately 11:21 p.m. on April 10, 2025, Communications Officer Chase Bergoon reported that Commercial Point Police Officers Mason Howard and Lucas Forte were in pursuit of a vehicle traveling south on SR 104. Speeds reportedly reached up to 100 mph before the vehicle slowed slightly to around 85 mph after crossing SR 316.

Pickaway County Deputy responded to the unfolding situation and positioned himself near the bridge over Big Darby Creek, laying out stop sticks in anticipation of the fleeing vehicle. Moments later, the suspect vehicle drove over the tire deflation device, resulting in both driver’s side tires going flat. The deputy cleared the roadway just before the pursuing officers passed the location.

The chase continued briefly before the suspect came to a stop near the intersection of SR 104 and SR 56. Officers conducted a felony stop, ordering the driver—identified as Trenton Hambrick—out of the vehicle at gunpoint. Hambrick complied with all commands and was taken into custody without further incident. No injuries were reported.

Law enforcement, including additional deputies and an Ohio State Highway Patrol trooper, responded to assist. After securing the scene, officers confirmed no other occupants were in the vehicle. The suspect’s car was photographed, showing damage to the deflated tires.

The Pickaway County Sheriff’s Office praised the coordinated effort of all responding agencies in safely ending the potentially dangerous pursuit.

Charges against Hambrick include felony fleeing and eluding, Illegal use or possession of Drug Paraphalia, Driving with a suspended license, and NO seat belt
