Local law enforcement and first responders across Pickaway County are teaming up for the DEA National Prescription Drug Take Back Day on Saturday, April 26, offering community members a safe and responsible way to dispose of unused or expired prescription medications.

From 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., residents can drop off medications at the following convenient collection sites:

  • Walmart – 1470 South Court Street, Circleville
  • Circleville Fire Department – 586 North Court Street, Circleville
  • Harrison Township Fire Department – 3625 SR 752, Ashville
  • Commercial Point Police Department – 10 West Scioto Street, Commercial Point

This initiative is part of a nationwide effort to combat the misuse of prescription drugs by reducing access to unused medications that often sit in home medicine cabinets.

“We appreciate the support and collaboration with all agencies to help reduce prescription drug misuse in Pickaway County,” organizers said. The effort is backed by local fire departments, police agencies, the Pickaway County Sheriff’s Office, and supported by the Pickaway Addiction Action Coalition (PAAC).

The Take Back Day also serves to educate the public about the risks associated with improper storage or disposal of prescription drugs, especially opioids and other controlled substances.

Let’s work together to make our community safer—one prescription at a time.
