CIRCLEVILLE, Ohio — The Pickaway County Chamber of Commerce has announced the appointment of Jan Shannon as Interim Director. Shannon will lead the Chamber on a part-time basis under a ten-month contract, working closely with Project Coordinator Savannah MacDowell to engage with Chamber members and the broader community.

A lifelong resident of Pickaway County, Shannon brings a wealth of experience to the role. She is a graduate of Teays Valley High School and holds an MBA from Ohio Christian University. Her career spans over three decades in public service, including 21 years with the Ohio Public Retirement Systems and nine years with Pickaway County Job and Family Services. After retiring, she served as the first full-time Executive Director of the Pickaway County Community Foundation for seven years.

In addition to her professional accomplishments, Shannon remains deeply involved in the community. She currently serves on the Foundations 4 Youth Board, the Pickaway Ross Career and Technology School Board, and is president of the Circleville Sunrise Rotary. She is also appointed to the Ohio Consumers’ Council Board. Beyond her civic contributions, she is passionate about agriculture and supports the Miryante project in Uganda.

When asked about her new role, Shannon said she is excited to help Chamber members — and future members — take full advantage of the resources available through Chamber programs. She praised the Chamber Board for its vision and commitment to creating impactful changes for businesses in the county.

“Pickaway County’s spirit of collaboration is truly special,” Shannon said. “Helping our diverse business community prosper and grow is critically important, and I look forward to working together to meet their needs.”

Outside of her professional and volunteer work, Shannon enjoys gardening, traveling, and spending time with her husband, Brad, their grown children, and four grandchildren.

The Chamber invites the community to join them in welcoming Jan Shannon as she steps into this important leadership role.
