Pickaway County Court Holds Hearings for Multiple Felony Cases

CIRCLEVILLE, OHIO – The Pickaway County Court of Common Pleas, under the jurisdiction of Judge Matthew H. Chafin, held hearings on March 19, 2025, for multiple felony cases, with defendants facing charges ranging from drug possession to theft and domestic violence.

Sentences Handed Down

Two defendants, Eric L. Benford, 39, of Pickaway County Jail, received sentences after pleading guilty. Benford was sentenced to 12 months in a correctional facility for theft and 18 months for failure to appear. However, both sentences were stayed, and he was placed on three years of community control.

Another defendant, Lajhaun Berry, 30, of Mansfield Correctional, was sentenced to 18 months in a correctional facility for aggravated possession of drugs, with the sentence running concurrently with a Franklin County conviction.

Jett Lee Vu, 22, of Commercial Point, also pled guilty to failure to comply with a police officer’s signal. A pre-sentence investigation (PSI) was ordered before sentencing.

Pre-Trial Hearings Set for April 17

Several defendants pled not guilty and are scheduled for pre-trial hearings on April 17, 2025. These include:

  • Chad William Temple, 41, facing a charge of possessing a fentanyl-related compound.
  • Jeffrey A. Corby, 44, charged with inducing panic and aggravated possession of drugs.
  • J.R. Davis, 58, accused of aggravated drug possession.
  • William C. Harmon Sr., 55, facing domestic violence and strangulation charges.
  • Kendra L. Stump, 26, charged with receiving stolen property and complicity to theft from the elderly.
  • Bryan M. Buskirk, 44, accused of aggravated drug possession.

Additionally, Robert B. Senn, 42, is facing trial for attempted trespass in a habitation.

As the legal proceedings move forward, those awaiting trial will have their cases reviewed next month, while those already sentenced will begin serving their time or complying with community control orders.
