CIRCLEVILLE, OH – Judge Matthew H. Chafin presided over several cases in the Court of Common Pleas on Wednesday, February 12, 2025, addressing charges ranging from drug possession to stolen property and violations of protection orders.
Drug-Related Cases Lead to Sentences and Revoked Community Control
Crystal R. Crabtree (41), currently housed at the Ohio Reformatory for Women in Marysville, admitted to violating community control on two counts of Aggravated Possession of Drugs (F-5). As a result, the court revoked community control and executed her original sentence.
Lindsey Jean Phillips (38) of Pataskala was sentenced to 12 months in Marysville for Illegally Conveying Drugs of Abuse onto the Grounds of a Detention Facility (F-3). A separate charge of Possession of a Fentanyl-Related Compound (F-5) was dismissed.
Donald L. Eilander (39), incarcerated at Pickaway County Jail, had his charge of Aggravated Possession of Drugs (F-3) amended to Attempted Possession (M1). He pleaded guilty and was credited for time served, while a separate charge of Illegal Conveyance of Drugs into a Detention Facility (F-3) was dismissed.
Traffic and Property-Related Offenses
Charles Sexton (69) of Chillicothe pleaded guilty to Failure to Comply with an Order or Signal of a Police Officer (F-3). A Pre-Sentence Investigation (PSI) was ordered.
Gary R. Leasure (29), currently at Mansfield Correctional Institution, pleaded guilty to Receiving Stolen Property (F-4), and a PSI was ordered.
Protection Order and Stalking Charges Move to Trial
Harold M. Hoop, Jr. (43) of Pickaway County Jail pleaded not guilty to Menacing by Stalking (F-4) and Violating a Protection Order (F-5). His case was continued for pre-trial on March 13, 2025.
The court will continue to process these cases, with some defendants awaiting sentencing and others preparing for pre-trial hearings in the coming weeks.
